THE ROD DEDEAUX FOUNDATION IS PROUD TO SUPPORT THE URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY.

The Rod Dedeaux Foundation is very proud to support The Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California.  This is an outstanding program that has an incredibly positive impact on youth and the community.  The youth baseball and softball programs offered there have an extraordinary effect on kids. The Urban Youth Academy is a free, year-round facility that strives to set the standard for instruction and mentorship in urban America while enhancing the quality of life in the surrounding communities. Each year over 15,000 youth participate in programs and hosted events with an additional 30,000 community members impacted through community-focused initiatives.

The Academy provides youth unparalleled baseball and softball instruction, education assistance, and career development opportunities.

To date over 500 players have gone on to play collegiate baseball or softball, over 100 players have been drafted by Major League Clubs, several have reached the Major Leagues, and many more have established careers in the sports industry.

They also offer educational and vocational programs in the areas of academic assistance, umpiring, field maintenance, sports writing and broadcasting, administrative internships, and athletic training internships.
